Crooked Man

There was a crooked man
and he walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence,
against a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat,
which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together
in a little crooked house.

Well we hope you enjoyed that little video. Do join us next week when we will have more rhymes to share that you may well know and can join in with. Please #SpreadTheWord.

Ruby’s #OneMinuteStory 08 ‘The Silver Selkie’

Day 08 and our final story now the big day is here. This one is a very brief kind of sneak peek of a story we are working on about ‘The Silver Selkie’ (a selkie is a beautiful mythical creature half seal half human).

This is another #OneHundredWords story The Silver Selkie’ by Rose English.

Happy Listening.

The Silver Selkie

The shell whispered its hidden lullaby as the sun disappeared and seemed to melt into the salty sea. As the world turned, all colour drained away and the stars became visible as white dots in a dull grey sky. Before long they were sparkling upon black velvet.

The moon climbed high, leaving a silvery path upon the water. The child smiled, for there before her eyes approached a beautiful sleek silver seal. As the seal reached the shore, she raised herself up and her skin fell away, revealing a pretty lady. The child ran into her arms.

“Grandma you came.”

Ruby’s #OneMinuteStory 07 ‘Snolar Bear’

Day 07 another fun #OneHundredWords story this time about a ‘Snolar Bear’ a cross between a snowman and a polar bear by Rose English.

Happy Listening.

Snolar Bear

Bright whiteness filled the room, as I open my eyes, I am stunned to see the white snow-covered fields beyond my window.

I waste no time leaping from the bed, rushing to get ready and go outside to check that I’m not dreaming. Wrapped up warm I step into the white wonderland. I am going to make a snowman.

All starts well rolling snowballs round and round to form the body, then another for the head. Alas when I merge the two it looks nothing like a snowperson. I’ve created something unique a Snolar Bear.
