Miss Ruby Heart is a golden red King Charles spaniel, who is sadly a little ghost puppy. Her guardian is the magical longcase clock Grandfather Time. Together this unusual pair like to tell stories in rhythm and rhyme. They love reading and wish to share their joy with children, young readers and those simply young at heart.
There’s no getting away from it, Ross Collins’ intended My First Animal Book’ has been infiltrated, indeed taken over, by a mischievous canine that has no intention of doing anything but ensuring he’s the only animal that matters herein. He’s even had the audacity to substitute his name for Ross’s on the title page.
Make no bones about it, his actions are anything but well received by the other animals – note their expressions. And having annoyed the monkey, astonished the rabbit and alarmed the squirrel, he’s somehow managed to get his paws on a black crayon to edit (actually mess around with) the text.
Children will absolutely love what he does beside the giraffe and giggle at his attempts at emulating a pachyderm in front of the elephant.
He almost gets his cum uppance with bear but then comes gorilla where…

Young Ebenezer Hallowen Teaser Part 01
I bring you a treat,
a Halloween story
of young Ebenezer
and best friend, young Rory.
I watch over the boys
I am Grandfather Time,
and I will tell you this tale
in rhythm and rhyme.
It is All Hallows Eve
and the kids in the schools
are really excited
to go home, dress as ghouls.
There’ll be vampires and ghosts
and monsters galore,
stepping out on the streets
to knock on your door.
The school bell rings loud
it is the end of the day.
The kids pack up their books,
and are soon on their way.
With his best friend in tow
Eb leaves the school yard,
they run all the way home
with their legs pumping hard.
With their homes now in sight,
the boys sprint to their gates
Rory punches the air
tells Eb “Don’t you be late.”
“I won’t. That’s a promise.”
Eb yells with a smile,
a little bit breathless
after running that mile.
Boing, Boing I chime out,
as Eb reaches our door.
Boing, Boing once again,
as my hands now reach four.
The house it smells yummy,
Mum has made a great feast
and like the Grinch on the film
Dad will carve the roast beast.
School bag and blazer
are thrown without care,
and land in a heap
at the base of the stair.
“Go back. Pick them up.”
is dads’ strict command.
“Or there’ll be no treats,
with neither plea nor demand.”
Eb does as he’s told
so he won’t miss the treats
or his first Halloween,
out with mates on the streets.
Dinner is rushed,
and fills up his tummy.
There is still room for sweets,
and all things that are yummy.

First of all Happy Weekend Book Lovers, sorry we have not been around for a while would you believe we are actually writing. It’s true, I kid you not. So during #CampNaNoWriMo we worked on our poetry book ‘Butterflies & Blue Skies ~ Poetry & Prose 2′but we got off course and picked up on our #Selkie Folklorestory.
Today however, we went off on a completely different tangent, but it was very productive. We actually completed the second book in the Young Ebenezer series. This time Young Ebenezer gets to go ‘Trick or Treating’ for the very first time. Sadly Jacob Marley the school bully is out stealing all the candy from the other boys and girls.
With the help of Grandfather Time and Miss Ruby Heart (me of course) we hope to get Jacob to change his ways.

As the book is aimed at younger readers we are favouring the bright page trims at the top of the image. However, we would love to know what your thoughts are? Leave us a little comment in the box below.
Check out these A~MAZ~ING books by K.S. Marsden #WitchHunter series very highly recommended for #YA certainly not for younger readers or those of a delicate disposition.
