‘Young Ebenezer’ #Promo & New Release

190928 Promo YE 01a

#Promo ‘Young Ebenezer ~ A New Christmas Carol’ Book 1

To celebrate the forthcoming release of Book 2 in the Young Ebenezer Series by Rose English, Book 1 is out as a Kindle Countdown promotion starting at just 99p/99c on Saturday 28th September.

This story is a seasonal treat, a modern, lyrical re-telling of the Charles Dickens classic – ‘A Christmas Carol.’

The book is specially designed for families to share during the Holiday Season, or for young competent readers to try for themselves.

Eb is a spoilt child who really is not one for caring, and he certainly hates sharing. He is watched over by a very special guardian – the family’s ancient longcase clock, who is bestowed with magic. His name is Grandfather Time.

On Christmas Eve Grandfather Time decides he must teach the boy a lesson. So he calls upon his friends; the Ghosts of Past, Present and Future and with lessons to learn he brings forth the first tutor – a little golden-red King Charles spaniel, called Miss Ruby Heart.

Will this unlikely pair be able to teach the boy the error of his ways? Or will he be doomed to be a scruffy, lonely teenager stuck forever in his own little world?

Boing! Boing!

Verse 1

Grandfather Time,
chimes out loud and clear,
he’s telling us all,
Christmas soon will be here.
The fire is burning;
the room’s all aglow,
outside the snow’s falling,
so gentle and slow.

New Release ‘Young Ebenezer ~ Confronts the School Bully’

Happy Sunday. We are so close now to the release of ‘Young Ebenezer ~ Confronts the School Bully’ by Rose English due to be released on Tuesday 1st October 2019.  We just found out that October is also #NationalBullyPrevention month too.

Whilst the theme of the book is bullying it is also based around ‘Trick or Treating’.   It’s a #Halloween treat much better than sweets! Told in lyrical form, a story in verse. It is aimed at children 8 – 12 year olds as it is rather long for a story poem which brings me also to the fact that Thursday 3rd October is  #NationalPoetryDay.

Young Ebenezer Teaser from YouTube

Grandfather Time,
chimes out loud and clear,
he’s telling us all,
Christmas soon will be here.
The fire is burning;
the room’s all aglow,
outside the snow’s falling,
so gentle and slow.

Many young boys and girls
are on their Playstations,
X-boxes, Nintendos,
throughout all the nation.
Yet one little fellow
is still not content,
to get even more presents,
is his main intent.

Now young Ebenezer,
is a naughty young lad,
not sharing with others,
he really is bad.
So Grandfather Time has
been watching him grow,
with a feeling of sadness
that is making him low.

It is time for the boy,
a lesson to learn,
that he has to be good,
for the presents to earn.
He must learn to share,
with the girls and the boys
and learn how to give
and not take others’ toys.

Have Fun with Children’s
Poetry

By Leslie C. Halpern

When I tell people that I’m president of the Orlando
Area Poets, write children’s poetry books, perform with a poetry ensemble, and once
worked with a Shakespearean acting troupe, they usually roll their eyes and tell
me they don’t like poetry. That’s usually because as children they never
learned to understand the language of poems.

Adults can make poetry fun and educational for children
by introducing age-appropriate poems to youngsters in entertaining ways.
Infants respond to hearing rhymed poems and looking at illustrations. As soon
as a child can speak, he or she can explain what pictures mean and guess what happens
next. By being active listeners, children learn to decode language at an early
age and develop a life-long love of words. Adding sounds effects as you read to
children (such as making funny sounds, reading with an accent, including…

Goodreads Review

Harry Saves the OceanHarry Saves The Ocean: Teaching children about sea pollution and recycling. by N.G. K.

My rating 4 paws plus

Another A~MAZ~ING bright colourful rhyming read for children, featuring our favourite character Harry the Happy Mouse. We absolutely love this book series. However, this book is truly special bringing to light the problem of plastics in our oceans and along the coastlines. The opening lines simply entice you in as if swept along on a gentle sea breeze.

On the crest of a wave and the wisp of the wind,
Harry the Happy Mouse was packing his things.

The illustrations by Janelle Dimmett are as bright and beautiful as ever. Children of all ages are going to love this wonderful educational read.

Very Highly Recommended.
