Miss Ruby Heart is a golden red King Charles spaniel, who is sadly a little ghost puppy. Her guardian is the magical longcase clock Grandfather Time. Together this unusual pair like to tell stories in rhythm and rhyme. They love reading and wish to share their joy with children, young readers and those simply young at heart.

Christmas over and done

Wow how time flies, we hope you all had the ‘Paw-fect’ Christmas. Ours was relaxed checking out the wonderful Children’s Books that appeared on our Miss Ruby Heart Advent Calendar, which you can still check out by the way. Advent Calendar of Children’s Books

The advent calendar features a different children’s book each day, many from Indie Authors. Behind the door you will see a snippet about the book and at the bottom of the image is a link to take you to the Facebook party page. Not only are there books but also kids video shorts, songs and of course a Christmas Cracker Joke. Somethjing to keep the kids amused for half an hour. Drop in at your leisure some authors may even have giveaways.

OK so we are a bit late in getting to our announcement, but besides being the most wonderful time of the year it is also the busiest.

Advent Calendar of Children’s Books

So the news is we have created an advent calendar to share our love of Children’s Books especially those lovingly created by Indie Authors. Plus we have a Facebook Party page you can check out daily at your leisure with mini video’s, songs and of course a Christmas Cracker Joke especially for the kids. So if you are at a loose end as to what to do with them for half an hour this could help you out. Todayā€™s creation

Some yearā€™s ago when I did NaNoWriMo I wanted to work on a book of short stories about shoes. The book is on hold but I did have a few ideas and this story below was inspired by a longer story I had created for that book.

A time for candy and costumes,
pumpkins and ā€˜Trick or Treatā€™.
But beware of the bully
lurking just down the street.

Ebenezer is really excited! Itā€™s his first Halloween to go out ā€˜Trick or Treatingā€™. Jacob Marley is excited too, but this school bully plans to steal all the kidsā€™ sweets. Can Eb and his friends, along with the magical clock Grandfather Time teach Jacob the error of his ways? Or is the boy doomed to a life of crime, just like his wicked father?
